Wow.

I just heard Barack Obama's speech from Raleigh after he heard about the results from North Carolina. Wow. Indeed, I am a member of the generation who questioned 8 years ago whether it would really matter whether Al Gore or George Bush became the next president. I really thought, nothing every really changes in Washington because it is just a big machine.

I swore throughout this primary season I wouldn't say who I favored. But now I'll say something because my vote didn't count. I really hope Barack Obama is nominated by the Democratic party because he is the first candidate I have heard in my life who I actually believe might stop the gridlock that stalls every single attempt at progress in this country.

Incidentally, long long before this election season, I always believed that a black man would become president of this country before a woman would. Even though I am inspired by Barack Obama, it is sad for me as a woman that my prediction may have been accurate.
