Way to ring in the new year

By dinner time last night I couldn't believe all the ailments I was having. Leg cramps, stomach nausea, other digestive problems. While in Florida I had three consecutive days of head splitting migraines, and by last night I was to the point where I just living with a constant cloud of almost-a-migraine swimming around my head. Grace left at 6p to have dinner with her dad, and by 10p, I just told my husband I wanted to go to bed.

Grace came home at 10:30p and came to my bed. She said, "Am I really the only person in this house who's going to stay up to welcome in the new year?" I told her she could stay up and watch tv and wished her happy new year. Then I fell asleep. I was awakened by my husband telling me happy new year with the sound of fireworks going off in the background.

First thing this morning I confirmed it. Positive pregnancy test. No doubts about it. Solidly, strongly positive.

I'm taking this somewhat in stride because 40 weeks is a long time to hold a viable pregnancy. It'll probably be a good 3 months before we tell anyone in our real life, provided there is still something to tell at that point.

But, wow. What a way to start the New Year.

Wow, wow, wow! I'm thinking about you. Take care of yourself! My 16 yr. old went to a party last night and walked out the door looking 25. It was the first time and it has freaked me out.

Wow. Wow wow wow. How do you feel about the possibility of being pregnant though? Pretty sure you and I are the same age. I try to imagine how I would feel. I don't know. Except scared.
